With the new performance levels of Biomattone®—made of hemp, offering energy savings, insulation, and CO₂ reduction—SENINI is laying the groundwork for the revival of the industrial hemp supply chain.

Tecnocanapa is the complete range of patented products and integrated solutions for hemp-and-lime building envelopes, representing the future of construction through the use of natural, sustainable, and energy-efficient materials.

**Blocco Ambiente®, Bio Beton® Pronto, and Bio Beton® 500 Venezia** are the ideal solutions for both new construction and renovation projects. Made exclusively from hemp shiv, natural dolomitic binder, and symbiotic microorganisms, they are designed to maximize indoor air quality, energy savings, and living comfort.

At FUORISALONE, Tecnocanapa presents the new Biomattone®,
an infill block with exceptional thermal performance
(lambda 0.048 W/m²K; thermal transmittance: Blocco 40 U = 0.12 W/m²K, Blocco 36 U = 0.13 W/m²K, Blocco 30 U = 0.12 W/m²K),
achieved through the optimization of raw materials and an innovative low-energy production process.

Biomattone® is a carbon-negative product, certified by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), with 44 kg of CO₂ removed from the atmosphere for every cubic meter of building envelope.

With 3,000 m³ of Biomattone® used across three major industrial-scale construction sites—Vespucci Waterfront (Genoa), San Cataldo (Lecce), Barbarano Romano (Rome)—and at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pisa, where six pavilions were built under a €28 million public contract, a total of 138 tons of CO₂ were removed from the atmosphere, equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide captured by 28 hectares of forest over 10 years.

The exponential growth in the use of hemp and lime biocomposites in construction is not only driving the true decarbonization of the building sector but also laying the foundation for the development of an entirely Italian industrial hemp supply chain.

“Working for the well-being of people and the environment has always been our company’s mission,”

Working for the well-being of people and the environment has always been our company’s mission,” says entrepreneur Massimo Senini, “as you can also read on our silos. Sustainability means creating something healthy, beautiful, and human-centered. That’s why we’ve installed a brand-new 1.5-megawatt photovoltaic system covering our 15,000 square meters of production facilities. We’re a company that can now sell carbon credits, because the more we produce, the more CO₂ we remove from the atmosphere.

At SENINI®, we’ve always had a strong awareness of environmental issues and were the first in our sector to achieve ISO 14001 environmental certification—over twenty years ago. It’s no coincidence that our outdoor paving products from the Ecotop® line were selected by EXPO Milano 2015 for their air-purifying ability, thanks to the active principle of photocatalysis. And since 2015, through our Tecnocanapa line, we’ve been active in the green building sector, working with natural construction materials and technologies for energy efficiency, aiming to reduce energy consumption in both new and existing buildings while improving indoor comfort for occupants.

The homes of the future will increasingly be built with natural materials—a fast-growing trend that helps protect the environment and ensures a better quality of life for everyone. That’s why we’re committed to offering products with enormous potential, rooted in a solid and credible past—rediscovered, reinvented, and destined to become the defining elements of tomorrow’s architecture.

And today, with LITHÓRA® and NOAI®, design meets ethics—ushering in a new era of green building. The true strength of this product lies in the fact that it requires no firing: we produce it cold, with zero CO₂ emissions. That’s why we are proud to say it is entirely sustainable.
