FOR A SOLID BUT LIGHTWEIGHT HOUSE
The hemp and lime biocomposite casing solutions match perfectly with all types of frame load-bearing structures offered in the construction market: reinforced concrete, steel, wood.
Wood, in addition to having a low environmental impact, like hemp, removes carbon dioxide (CO2) from the environment during its growth phase and stores it inside for the entire useful life of the building. For this reason, the wooden load-bearing structure with a punctual system or “platform frame” is the most requested by those who want to build 100% green building.
From a technical and construction point of view, wooden frame solutions allow the formation of a highly rigid and anti-seismic box system, characterized by high ease and speed of installation, as well as adapting to any architectural solution. They are used both for new buildings and for extensions or additions.
Finally, the wooden load-bearing structure weighs less than the more common steel and concrete solutions, allowing a reduction in the size of the foundations, therefore a reduction in the related economic and environmental costs.
STEEL STRUCTURE

There are two types of structural steel frames: heavy steel structures (so-called beams) and light steel frames. The advantage of the heavy structure is that it can support greater weights and create larger spaces and spaces thanks to the high thickness of the elements it is made of. The advantage of lightweight structures instead lies in their lightness and speed of installation.
Steel structures have good anti-seismic value thanks to their high flexibility and are compatible with all dry construction systems. The simple integration of the casing and systems allows the highest energy, acoustic and fire resistance standards to be met. The possibility of reusing the components and 100% recycling of the raw material allows us to minimize the environmental impact of steel.
All types of steel structures are compatible with the casing solutions in Bio Beton® and Blocco Ambiente® made of hemp and lime. The naturalness and high vapor permeability of the casing translate into energy efficiency, living comfort and healthy air.
REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURE
FOR AN INNOVATIVE BUT RESISTANT HOUSE
The reinforced concrete structure is composed of an armor (steel rods interconnected to form a cage) and a concrete casting covering the steel core. Thanks to its notable resistance to compression and traction, reinforced concrete is used both to create civil works and infrastructures such as bridges, tunnels, roads, dams and railways.
The combination of a concrete structure and a casing in Bio Beton® and Blocco Ambiente® made of hemp and lime allows the creation of zero energy buildings, providing them with the highest living comfort and the best air quality. The lightness of a natural and breathable casing protects and covers the structural concrete frame, increasing its durability over time.
Concrete structures lend themselves to the creation of a Bio Slab®, the natural alternative to the common brick-cement slab. Thanks to Blocco Ambiente® in hemp and lime, creating a Bio Solaio® becomes fast, competitive and effective. The installation of the hemp and lime block with subsequent reinforcement and concrete casting allows for the creation of a lightened and at the same time insulating structural floor both from a thermal and acoustic point of view, allowing the work to be customized even during the construction phase.
CASING IN LIME AND HEMP
FOR A COMFORTABLE HOME
The different solutions for the lime and hemp casing allow the creation of homogeneous products in terms of material and performance. From Bio Beton® to Blocco Ambiente®, the products contain few but good ingredients: aerial lime for durability, hemp for insulation and breathability, probiotic additives to optimize the carbonation process and water to bind the ‘dough. An all-natural patent. A massive insulator for a house that is warm in winter and cool in summer, capable of self-regulating air humidity with positive effects on living comfort and well-being. The lime mineralizes the hemp which, at the end of the process, is fireproof and rot-proof. BREATHABLE FINISHES
FOR A WARM AND BREATHABLE WALL
The finishes of the Tecnocanapa line are all lime-based, in order to guarantee the breathability and durability of the insulating casing. As an alternative to traditional finishes in lime and mineral aggregate (Natural Lime Plaster, Stabilitura Naturale Traspirante Plus), the masonry in Blocco Ambiente® or Bio Beton® can be finished both inside and outside with Bio Beton® 500 Venezia, rustic plaster with Canaposo or Canapulino material finish, Canapulo Fine, Natural Dolomitic Binder and Probiotic Additive. The material finishes, in addition to guaranteeing maximum breathability, take on the natural appearance of the exposed canapulo and contribute to the so-called ‘warm wall’ sensation.
IMPLANT SYSTEMS
ONLY WHAT IS NECESSARY FOR COMFORT
Creating a building in Bio Beton® or Blocco Ambiente® allows you to achieve high thermal performance of the casing, with minimal heat loss and excellent internal comfort for almost the entire building. year. The thermal requirement necessary to achieve internal comfort in the coldest weeks of winter or the hottest weeks of summer is reduced to a minimum. This means that the energy needed to provide heating and cooling is very low. Traditional systems, which are designed to work with a lot of energy and for a long time, are useless and unnecessarily expensive in these situations. To combat the humid climate that characterizes our area, as well as to get closer to a passive house, a Controlled Mechanical Ventilation system with heat recovery is ideal. It is an easy-to-install system that guarantees the home the necessary internal air exchange without heat dispersion, at a low cost. It dehumidifies when necessary and if integrated with a heat pump, it raises or lowers the internal temperature when required. By adding an electric or heat pump system with storage for domestic hot water, you can forget about gas!
