Milan Design Week 2024:
Celebrating Green Design
The world of design is preparing to converge on the vibrant city of Milan from 15 to 21 April, when Fuorisalone 2024 will take place alongside the 62nd edition of the Salone del Mobile. From 16 to 21 April, the leading international event for the design industry will be held at Rho Fiera in Milan. This is when designers, architects, manufacturers and enthusiasts come together to celebrate innovation and the art of design. Salone del Mobile is a trade exhibition reserved for industry professionals, showcasing the latest trends in furniture and interiors, while Fuorisalone turns the city into a lively, creative stage with events, installations and exhibitions throughout Milan.

Tecnocanapa and Paola Lenti:
A Collaboration for Sustainable Design
During Milan Design Week 2024, Paola Lenti’s creations will be displayed in a brand-new environment centred on climatic comfort and environmental sustainability. The structure, built using the cold-formed steel and Tecnocanapa construction system developed by Ottagono, represents an innovation in sustainable architecture. This green technology, without structural limitations, integrates perfectly with the vision of the Paola Lenti brand, which focuses on quality and care for the environment. The combination of steel and Tecnocanapa creates an insulated environment with balanced humidity levels, ideal for enjoying Paola Lenti’s creations during Milan Design Week.
Through its collaboration with Tecnocanapa, Paola Lenti continues to demonstrate its commitment to responsible, sustainable design, offering visitors a unique experience that combines aesthetics, functionality and respect for the environment.
OTTAGONO, a sustainable research and training centre
Ottagono, a cutting-edge research and training centre for the application of green technologies in architecture and design, played a fundamental role in the collaboration with Senini, Tecnocanapa and Paola Lenti to create the steel structure designed to host the exhibition during Milan Design Week in April.
Ottagono’s mission is to create a meeting point between designers and leading architecture brands, providing a platform of targeted services designed to accelerate business opportunities for professionals. Thanks to its expertise, Ottagono has facilitated a new approach to integrated design, providing specialist advice on technologies, materials, lighting and customised elements, thereby ensuring a complete, dependable offering.
Ottagono’s materials library offers a wide range of finishes, technologies and materials, allowing designers to experience the most innovative and functional solutions first-hand. In addition, Ottagono stands out for an ecosystem capable of managing construction technology, sustainability and home automation, backed by in-depth knowledge of construction technologies and sustainable solutions. With a highly qualified team, Ottagono provides not only structural engineering but also cutting-edge digital solutions and high energy standards, contributing to the delivery of innovative and sustainable architectural projects.
A Four-Way Collaboration for a Sustainable Future
The highly innovative aspect of this project is the active collaboration between four major companies working in sustainable construction. Tecnocanapa played a fundamental role by supplying the key product used to create the exhibition structure, thereby ensuring an environmentally responsible and sustainable footprint. Senini, the main brand enthusiastically joined the initiative, contributing its support to promote green and responsible design. ABito live, which specialises in skilled labour, played an essential role in installing and setting up the exhibition, ensuring the highest quality and professionalism at every stage of the process. Ottagono, a research and training centre for the application of green technologies, created the entire steel structure for the exhibition.
