Canapaforum 2022

Canapaforum 2022, the international conference dedicated to the world of hemp, has just concluded its second edition.

An extensive programme—from 6 to 10 September at the San Marcellino e Festo Monastic Complex in Naples—featured conferences, company visits, training courses and an exhibition of innovative products. CANAPAFORUM 2022 was organised by Federcanapa—the Italian Industrial Hemp Federation—in collaboration with EIHA European Industrial Hemp Association, Fracta Sativa Unicanapa and Legambiente.

Hemp and Sustainable Construction: A Continuously Evolving Sector

While the first edition, held in Milan on 27–28 October 2018, had already proved a success, Canapa Forum 2022 certainly lived up to expectations. Across five days, the event featured a rich programme of conferences with national and international topics and experts, together with company visits, training courses and an exhibition of innovative products. Numerous new production techniques and innovations were presented for the use of hemp across different industrial sectors. Particular emphasis was placed on industrial hemp policy, from food and sustainable construction to the medical and therapeutic use of cannabis.

Over the five days of Canapaforum, strong attention emerged around the benefits of using this highly versatile product. Hemp, for example, could save hundreds of millions of trees every year. The production of hemp-and-lime building materials makes it possible to create complete zero-impact homes. Hemp can also be used to produce fuels, non-polluting plastics and paints, textiles and much more.

Hemp is undoubtedly a material for the future, capable of improving our quality of life while respecting the environment around us.
